The standard behind the name

This business was built around one observation: most exterior cleaning damage in Sydney isn’t done by neglect — it’s done by cleaners. The Eastern Suburbs didn’t need another bloke with a pressure washer. It needed a standard — surface-matched methods, honest quotes, and proof of work. That’s the name, and it’s the whole operating model.

What surface-matched actually means

Pressure is a tool, not a strategy. It suits concrete, pavers, brick paving and paths. Pointed at anything else it causes damage that costs more than the cleaning saved.

On render and painted walls, high pressure drives water behind the coating and lifts paint at every weak point. On roof tiles it strips the surface glaze, leaving the tile more porous so growth returns faster, and forces water under the laps into the roof cavity. On timber it erodes the soft early-wood and raises the grain permanently. On sandstone it removes the weathered face and cannot be undone.

More importantly, pressure doesn’t solve the actual problem on any of those surfaces. Green and black staining is mould, algae and lichen — living organisms with roots extending into the material. Blasting removes what’s visible and leaves the roots. Soft washing kills the organism, which is why the result lasts years rather than a season.

So the first thing we do on any property is work out what each surface is and what’s actually wrong with it. That assessment is the job. Everything after it is execution.

How a quote works

Send photographs of the surfaces and tell us the rough size and what’s gone wrong. Most jobs don’t need a site visit.

You get a fixed price before anything starts, with the method we’d use and why that method suits the surface. No hourly rates and no variation on the invoice.

Where access is the constraint — a steep block, a rear elevation well above the ground below, a strata building above two storeys — we’ll tell you what access method is needed and why. Fall risk beyond two metres requires managed control under NSW work health and safety regulation, and that’s frequently the difference between two quotes on the same house.

What we won’t do

This matters more than the list of what we will.

  • We won’t pressure clean render, roof tiles, timber or sandstone
  • We won’t walk a slate or early terracotta roof
  • We won’t clean fretting brickwork — that’s a moisture problem, and washing it accelerates the damage
  • We won’t seal a surface that still holds salt or moisture, because it traps the problem underneath
  • We won’t use acidic cleaners on lime-mortared heritage masonry
  • We won’t tell you a deeply etched pane of glass will polish out when it won’t

Where a property needs a stonemason, a roof plumber or a drainage fix rather than a cleaner, we say so. We’d rather lose the job than take payment for work that addresses the wrong problem.

Where the water goes

Every kerbside stormwater drain in Sydney discharges untreated to a creek, the harbour or the ocean. Under the NSW Protection of the Environment Operations Act it’s an offence to allow pollutants to enter waters, and that includes detergents, oil lifted off a driveway and the organic slurry from a mouldy roof.

So runoff gets planned before a job starts — containment, diversion or capture depending on the site and what’s being lifted. It’s slower and it’s one of the reasons quotes differ. On a sloping block above bushland or a waterway it isn’t optional.

Where we work

We serve homeowners across the greater Eastern Suburbs area, and surrounding communities — from the salt-hammered ocean strip through the harbour side to the North Shore, Northern Beaches and the Hornsby corridor.

The conditions genuinely differ across those areas, and the method follows. Ocean-facing suburbs deal with salt aerosol and corrosion. Harbour suburbs get less aerosol but sustained humidity, so organic growth dominates. The Upper North Shore is canopy, leaf load and bushfire preparation. Heritage pockets bring lime mortar and materials that modern products damage.

About what we publish

The guidance on this site comes from work we actually do, and it’s written to be useful whether or not you hire us — including the parts that tell you when not to. Where we reference a regulation, a standard or a council requirement, it’s because it bears on the job, and you should verify anything that affects your property with the relevant authority.

We don’t publish invented case studies, fabricated review counts or claims we can’t stand behind. Where a photograph is illustrative rather than a job we completed, it isn’t presented as proof of our work.

Yes — we're fully insured with $20m public liability cover.

Sandstone, render and aged concrete all need different treatment, so we match the method to the surface rather than blasting everything the same way. We identify what you have, test an inconspicuous area first, and tell you honestly what can and can't be restored.

We cover 106 Sydney suburbs across the Eastern Suburbs, North Shore and Northern Beaches — from the salt-hammered ocean strip to the canopy-shaded North Shore.

Growth is pre-treated so it's killed at the root rather than blasted off the top. Planting, lighting and pool areas are covered before we start, and runoff is controlled on sloped blocks.

We finish every job with a walkthrough — we walk the property with you and address anything you're not happy with on the spot. Nothing is signed off until you've seen every surface yourself, and you receive a photo report on every job.
