Deco buildings are soft-wash territory

The rendered curves, parapets and balconies of a 1930s deco building cannot take pressure — render blows out, decorative mouldings erode, and water gets driven into ninety-year-old walls. We soft wash deco facades: the right solution, dwell time, gentle rinse. On cream and pastel render, where every streak of grime shows, the transformation is dramatic and the building isn’t harmed getting there.

The bulk of our work here comes through owners’ corporations and building managers: entry porticos and awnings, common stairwells, rear light wells and bin areas, footpath frontages, and balcony fronts where access allows.
