Gutter Cleaning Inner West Sydney | Terraces, Box Gutters, Fixed Quotes
The Inner West has the worst leaf load in Sydney and the least forgiving gutters to catch it. Mature plane trees and Moreton Bay figs line most of the older streets, and they drop heavily and continuously rather than in one clean autumn fall. Underneath them sit Victorian and Federation terraces with box gutters and internal valleys that were never designed to be self-clearing.
Box gutters are the real problem
On a terrace or semi, the gutter often runs behind a parapet and drains through a single internal downpipe. There is no overflow path. When it blocks, water does not spill over the front edge onto the garden where you would see it — it backs up and goes into the roof cavity and down an internal wall. By the time it shows on a ceiling, the timber above has been wet for a while. This is why Inner West gutters need clearing more often than a standard eaves gutter, and why the downpipe matters more than the gutter itself.
What we do
Box gutters and valleys cleared by hand, not blown through. Every downpipe flushed and flow-tested, because an internal downpipe that only half drains is the one that floods you. Rainheads and overflow outlets checked. Debris bagged and removed. Photo report on completion so you can see the box gutter you have never actually looked at.
Terraces, semis and converted warehouses
Two-storey terraces with rear lane access only, slate and terracotta roofs where foot traffic has to be managed carefully, and converted warehouse rooflines with long internal runs. Access is usually the hard part in these streets, and we come set up for it rather than deciding on the day.
Where we work
Across the Inner West and the Lane Cove River peninsula — including Balmain, Birchgrove, Rozelle, Drummoyne, Haberfield, Hunters Hill, Woolwich, Longueville and Riverview.
