Tennis Court Cleaning
Tennis court cleaning Sydney: moss and algae killed through the pile on synthetic grass, acrylic soft washed without wand marks — grip, drainage and colour restored, resurfacing deferred.
A private tennis court is one of the most valuable — and most neglected — surfaces on an Eastern Suburbs property. Courts in Vaucluse, Bellevue Hill, Rose Bay and Woollahra sit under the same salt air and tree canopy as everything else, and because they’re used intermittently, moss and algae get months of undisturbed growing time between hits.
Why dirty courts are unplayable courts
The problem isn’t cosmetic. Algae film on acrylic is dangerously slick underfoot — the classic rolled ankle on the first cold morning of the season. On synthetic grass, moss and organic matter compact into the pile and sand infill, killing the drainage the court was engineered around, so it stays wet for days after rain and wears unevenly. Left long enough, growth lifts seams and shortens the resurfacing cycle by years. A proper clean is the cheapest thing you can do to defer a five-figure resurface.
How we clean each surface
Synthetic grass courts are treated with a biocide to kill moss and algae through the pile — the same root-level approach as our mould and moss removal service — then cleaned with equipment that lifts debris without dragging out the sand infill. Infill levels are what keep the surface stable, and stripping them is the classic damage done by general pressure cleaners. Acrylic and cushioned hard courts are soft washed and rinsed at low pressure; high pressure cuts through the acrylic colour coat and leaves permanent wand marks across the playing surface. Natural and artificial clay is assessed case by case — much of the work there is drainage and moss control around the surrounds.
What’s included
Full playing surface, run-off areas and surrounds, treatment of moss and algae at the root so regrowth is slow, gentle cleaning around line markings, net posts and fence lines, and clearing of the court-edge drains that keep water moving. We’ll also flag anything structural we notice — lifting seams, low infill, ponding areas — with photos. The paths and paved areas around the court can be done in the same visit while the equipment is on site.
Most courts here do best on an annual clean, or every six months for heavily shaded courts under canopy. Fixed quote, and the court is walked with you before we leave.
