New buildings still need washing — sooner than people think

The common assumption in a new suburb is that cleaning is a someday problem. Coastal render disagrees. White and light-grey acrylic render — the dominant Little Bay finish — shows salt streaking and the first green tinge of algae within a few years of handover, especially on south-facing walls and anything shaded by the building next door.
