Palm Beach glass has one problem above all others: salt. Homes on the Pittwater side get off comparatively lightly, but anything facing the ocean carries a bonded salt film that ordinary detergent smears rather than removes, and that returns within days of a big southerly. The large fixed panes that came with the last two decades of rebuilds make it worse — no opening sash means no easy access, and most are too big to reach safely from a ladder on a sloping site.

What’s included

Salt film dissolved and rinsed rather than wiped across the glass, water-fed pole work on the high fixed panes so nothing rests against the frames, tracks and sills cleared of the grit that scratches glass on the next clean, and screens washed separately. We flag failing seals and perished glazing rubber when we see them — we don’t do the repair, so there’s nothing in it for us either way.
