Fence Cleaning
Fence cleaning Sydney: timber, Colorbond, rendered and glass fencing washed clean of mould, salt and grime along the whole boundary — gardens protected, gates and hardware included.
Fences frame everything. A freshly washed house behind a green-filmed, salt-streaked fence still reads as tired — and because fencing runs the full boundary, it’s often the largest continuous surface on the property. It’s also the cheapest one to transform.
Why fences go green and grey here
The southern, shaded side of every fence in the Eastern Suburbs grows the same green algae and black mould film, fed by salt-heavy air that holds moisture against the surface. Timber fences add UV greying and tannin streaks; Colorbond collects salt film that dulls the colour and, left long enough, works on the coating at cut edges and fixings; rendered boundary walls streak black below the capping. None of it is permanent — and none of it should be blasted off.
How each fence type is cleaned
Timber palings and slats are treated like decking: a biocide to kill growth in the grain, then a low-pressure wash — high pressure tears the soft grain out and leaves timber furred and splintering. Re-staining or oiling after cleaning is available and is what locks the result in. Colorbond and metal get a soft wash that lifts the salt and grime film without scouring the finish; the colour that comes back surprises most owners. Rendered and masonry walls are soft washed as walls, with the capping and weep holes handled properly. Glass pool fencing — the great salt victim — is cleaned with the same purified-water method as our window cleaning for a spot-free finish, hardware included.
The details that make it a finished job
Gates, hinges and latches degreased and cleaned. Letterboxes and fence-mounted lights wiped down. Garden beds along the line pre-wet, shielded where planting is delicate, and rinsed after — fence cleaning done carelessly is how hedges get chemical burn. And for shared boundary fences, we’re glad to coordinate with your neighbour so both sides are done in one visit and the cost is split.
Fence cleaning prices well as an add-on to a house wash or driveway clean — the equipment is already on site — and it’s included as standard in our pre-sale exterior packages, because the fence is in every photo whether you notice it or not.
