Limestone Cleaning in Bilgola Plateau

In Bilgola Plateau the limestone cleaning work is mostly on tiled roofs, render. 1960s to 1990s homes on the plateau, many rebuilt with large glass elevations and pools. The defining problem here is wind-driven salt on exposed glass and bush shade on the inland side, which decides the chemistry, the pressure and how often the surface needs attention.

We work around Bilgola Beach below, Bilgola Plateau lookout and the Attunga Reserve, on streets such as Plateau Road, Bilgola Avenue, Allen Avenue and The Serpentine. Salt spray is the dominant force on Bilgola Plateau exteriors. Glass hazes within weeks, render streaks under sills and fixings rust-run within a season, and black algae colonises the shaded southern walls. We schedule Bilgola Plateau homes on quarterly glass and six to twelve-monthly soft-wash cycles rather than waiting for the grime to become visible.

Northern Beaches Council. Northern Beaches Council stretches from Manly to Palm Beach and manages one of the longest coastlines of any Sydney LGA. Salt spray, sand and humidity mean glass, render and Colorbond need more frequent soft washing, and the council's coastal catchment policies require that no detergents or sediments enter stormwater drains that flow to the beaches and lagoons.
