Our method

How we clean it, and how we protect everything around it

We inspect a sample pane under raking light to identify the glass type and any fabrication debris, which is the real cause of scratching when a blade is used. Residue is softened with the appropriate solvent or alkaline cleaner, lifted with plastic scrapers and non-scratch pads, and only then, where the builder signs off and the glass type allows, finished with a new blade. Frames and tracks are vacuumed and washed, and the final pass is pure water so there are no streaks in the handover photographs. Any scratches present before we start are photographed and reported.
